Rushan Abbas, Executive Director of Campaign For Uyghurs, joins fellow leaders of women’s advocacy and human rights in Montreal June 23rd.

Women’s eNews, Canada’s leading outlet reporting on the stories of women and girls in the world today, has named Rushan Abbas as a Leader for Human Rights for her continued commitment to truth, justice, and the freedom of the Uyghur people.

Abbas became one of the most prominent Uyghur voices in international activism following her sister's detainment by the Chinese government in 2018.[4] Rushan Abbas also serves as the Chairperson of the Executive Committee at World Uyghur Congress, as the Chair of the Advisory Board of Germany's Axel Springer Freedom Foundation and as a board member of the Task Force on Human Trafficking within the Parliamentary Intelligence-Security Forum.

Join Optimum in congratulating Rushan on this momentous achievement in her continued fight to end one of the worst atrrocities in our contemporary world.
